Dying is Easy, Comedy is Hard

“What are you? Some kind of comedian?” Yes, actually I am and have been since I was a kid.

The day I finished my last college exam, I packed up and moved to Chicago to train as a comedian. While there I studied at The Second City, Annoyance Theater and Improv Olympic.

At the Improv Olympic I trained with Del Close, who also trained John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, etc) and performed on numerous improv “Harold” Teams.

From there I developed my own improv shows and forms and began performing and directing improv shows non-stop for 5 years,(my favorites being “Improvisers Must Be Punished! And The Evil Show!) I also trained several hundred Chicago improvisers before I moved back to New York City.

In New York, I decided to try my hand at stand up comedy and have never looked back. My stand up has been compared to Steve Martin and Gilbert Gottfried. I’ve also been told I look like every Jew comedian by every drunk comedy club patron this side of the Mississippi.

Currently, I perform every night at The World at The Improv Cafe located at 314 West 53rd Street (between 8th and 9th)

If you’d like to book me to play your club, college or private event either as a stand up comedian or with my improv troupe please email me at Aaron@aaronhaber.com
